LCO 2022 Split 2: Second split of the year to kick off; stakes raised as ticket to Mexico City’s Worlds up for grabs

LCO 2022 Split 2, and the league’s competitors see sweeping changes as OCE’s best line up for a spot at Worlds. Who will be crowned as the LCO champions and represent the region at the pinnacle of League of Legends?

  • Split 2 begins July 6 @ 6pm AEST
  • Roster changes aplenty as each squad gears up for the new split
  • Favourites Chiefs look to go one better after Split 1 final loss to Order

It’s Split 2 time.

The LCO returns Monday, June 6 for the second season of 2022, and as always, the stakes are raised even higher in the back half of the calendar year.

While Order claimed the Split 1 championship in April, and thus the spot at the Mid-Season Invitational in South Korea, the winner of Split 2 takes home much more than the OCE crown.

LCO’s next champion title comes with the honour of representing the region at Riot Games’ Worlds 2022 — LoL’s premier tournament — set to take place across North America later this year, with the grand final to take place in Mexico City.

It’s a long way to the Worlds trophy for our OCE reps, who first must navigate a brand new LCO landscape.

The Chiefs enter Split 2 as favourites as they did in Split 1, but will they go one better than April’s final and claim that Worlds Play-In spot? Can Order back up their Split 1 victory and go back-to-back for international representation?

Will we see the likes of former international reps Pentanet or Peace back overseas again? Is it time for a new name to take up the LCO mantle?

We’re covering everything LCO 2022: schedule, streams, results and more.
