Our teams are ready to hit the Summoners Rift, fighting for a top-two seed to compete in the PCS playoffs–their chance at Worlds in South Korea. With a brand new best-of-two format, which teams will succeed?
- Vertex secure their first 2-0 against Ground Zero
- Chiefs bounce back, undefeated against Dire Wolves
- Games resume Monday, July 3 @ 6pm
The first Super Week for Split 2 wrapped up last Wednesday.
The gamestate was quite even at first and Ground Zero secured themselves the very first drake; unfortunately for them, this would be the only one they’d see for the remainder of the game. Vertex started hitting the second drake while GZ posed around them, going in for the kill only for it to be for naught as Gooby’s pocket pick Shaco was outsmited by 4ever, leaving the rest of Vertex to clean things up.
This swiftly snowballed into Cloud Soul and Baron buff for the side of Vertex with some strategically played teamfights that allowed them to close off the game.
Game two saw the teams going back and forth throughout the match with a standout performance from Tomasino’s Jayce giving Vertex the edge they needed to secure the 2-0 they’ve been searching for.
The second series of the evening saw the teams of old clashing as the Dire Wolves and Chiefs closed off week four. Although things were fairly close in the early game, it all snowballed from the Chiefs securing Baron after twenty one minutes enabling them to pressure the base, picking fights on their own terms. Their eventual ace of the Wolfpack was just what they needed to wrap things up for game one.
The teams had another slow start going into game two with a first dragon skirmish also marking first blood, the kill and objective both secured by Babip. The gold was a little more evenly matched between the teams until the late game, the Chiefs’ sololaners taking charge in leading them to victory, undefeated once more.
Super Week Part 2 kicks off tonight, the Bo2 format keeping teams on their toes with the ladder neck and neck.

LCO Split 2 2023 Schedule & Results
There have been some major changes to the format of the LCO ahead of Split 2 this June. The round-robin stage will be played in best-of-twos as opposed to the former two separate best-of-one matches.
Points will be allocated depending on the results, with three awarded for a victorious flawless series, and one point to each team for a 1-1 outcome. Side selections will be submitted from both teams prior to the beginning of a series.
By the end of the round-robin, the top six teams will move into the next stage.
Rather than seeding into groups, the LCO has opted in favour of a double elimination playoffs bracket to give all teams a fighting chance.
The top two teams in our LCO playoffs will seed respectively for PCS playoffs, where they’ll be competing for a shot at Worlds in South Korea in October.
