FlyQuest vs Cloud9

lcsweek6flyc9draft

The first day of the game did not have an explosive early game. Both junglers were mostly focused on farming, with a pit stop from Blaber to get the first drake. But FLY answered with a great top side play where they got 3-for-1 on top of the first blood for an early 1k lead. However, FLY made a grave mistake as they started a fight after C9 took the first Herald, and they got aced after a great turn from C9, which turned the gold lead on its head to 1.5k against FLY. FLY once again tried to pressure the top side, but Blaber’s Olaf was scary after an early lead as C9 got three more kills, the first turret in mid and a 5k lead at the 12th minute. Despite FLY finding a couple of kills in the mid game, C9 still secured their third drake for the Hextech Soul point. A minute before the soul point spawned, FLY tried to dive top lane, but a great rotation from C9 as they salvaged the play with a Pentakill from Berserker.

With no FLY member on the map, C9 got the soul and the Baron, which extended their lead to nearly 8k gold. C9 sieged mid and bot taking both inhibitors with their Baron. FLY decided to engage after losing the second inhib with a flank from Philip, but with 12.5k gold behind they did not stand a chance as C9 ended the game in a dominating fashion.

  • Teams: FLY – C9
  • Time: 26:52
  • Kills: 8 – 19
  • Turrets: 2 – 9
  • Gold: 44.4k – 58.2k
  • Dragons: 0 – 4
  • Barons: 0 – 1

100 Thieves vs Dignitas

Coming into Week 6, Dig made some pretty big changes and they were playing with three of their Academy players in Hoon, eXyu and Spawn.

100T started the game with a level two gank in the bot lane, even though they did not get a kill they blew the Dig ADC’s Flash. Still, they got the first blood when Ssumday got a solo kill in top lane against the debuting Hoon. We did not see either team moving in for an early first drake until 100T got the first Herald uncontested, which Dig traded the drake for eventually. At 10 minutes 100T had a 1k gold lead as they had cs leads in most lanes. The second and third kills were also in top, three solo kills from Ssumday, even though he got some help from Closer’s presence. Except for the top side, the rest of the game was pretty slow as we had a 3k gold lead for 100T and a 2-1 drake lead for Dig at 20 minutes. Dig tried to fight for their soul point but they were late to rotate as they lost the drake and two more kills. With one of them being eXyu, 100T directly walked and took Baron, extending their lead to 4.5k.

Dig then tried another Teleport flank while 100T was sieging but it did not work out and they lost the bot lane inhibitor for it. 100T ended their Baron play with nearly 7k gold lead and an Infernal Soul point. While waiting around for objectives, 100T found a pick on Dig’s top laner and took two inhibs. With this advantage, they were able to get an easy soul. And then they got two unceremonious kills in Dig’s jungle and the game ended in a sudden fashion.

  • Teams: 100T – DIG
  • Time: 36:12
  • Kills: 13 – 2
  • Turrets: 9 – 2
  • Gold: 66.8k – 57.9k
  • Dragons: 4 – 2
  • Barons: 1 – 0

Team Liquid vs TSM

TSM tried to invade level one with their Braum, but it wasn’t successful as they could not steal any camps nor get any kills. No early kills in the game but still we saw a lot of close action, most of it focused in bot lane. TL bot duo came ahead in this action which allowed their team to establish a 700 gold lead. The first objectives were traded with TL getting the Herald and TSM getting the drake. The first blood also came in the bot lane for TL after a successful dive from Santorin, they were able to get the first turret using the Herald and their lead increased to nearly 3k. Despite TL bot lane being too ahead and creating a lot of pressure around the map, which gave TL another Herald, TSM managed to find a couple of kills on Bwipo to trade another drake for it. The kills at 20 were tied, but TL had a huge tower advantage with their proactive play and was ahead 6k gold. Around 25 minutes TL finally found a fight without a trade, and with three TSM members dead they got a free Baron for an 11k gold lead.

TL got two inhibitors with their Baron siege. Even with a drake up, they decided to try for the end rather than the objective. Using their massive gold lead, they did not need the drake and finished the game with ease.

  • Teams: TL – TSM
  • Time: 28:36
  • Kills: 11 – 5
  • Turrets: 10 – 1
  • Gold: 57.7k – 44.1k
  • Dragons: 1 – 2
  • Barons: 1 – 0

Golden Guardians vs Counter Logic Gaming

This was the first game we’ve seen River in his new team after his trade from Dignitas.

Despite all eyes being on River, CLG’s jungler was the active one. After blowing Flash of the GG mid laner, CLG found an early top dive to give his team the first blood. He then punished the Flashless Ablazeolive and dove Licorice once more, but GG answered with a great counter gank in bot lane to get two kills for themselves. GG’s bot lane advantage did not last long as they overdove the enemy and gave away a massive 4-for-0 trade and fell behind 2k gold. CLG got the first Herald a little delayed but GG couldn’t contest as they were too behind. GG found some kills but with most of it going to their support and CLG getting the first tower before plates fell, CLG managed to protect most of their gold lead. GG slowed the mid game enough to stabilize and get to the soul point, but just after the drake, they took a bad fight, losing three members and gifting Baron to CLG.

With the Baron, the gold difference increased to 7.5k with a very ahead Dhokla on Yone. Even though CLG could not get any inhibitors with their Baron, they pushed their lead to over 10k and increased their map pressure to stop GG’s soul attempt. CLG then tried another Baron but they did not need the buff as they found two kills from a great Dhokla flank. They got their ace after a short game and teleported to bot lane to end the game.

  • Teams: GG – CLG
  • Time: 36:56
  • Kills: 9 – 20
  • Turrets: 2 – 10
  • Gold: 59.1k – 70.5k
  • Dragons: 3 – 2
  • Barons: 0 – 1

Immortals vs Evil Geniuses

The last game of the day started with two simultaneous fights with IMT ganking bot and EG getting the better side in the bot lane. No kills were to be found but multiple summoner spells were spent. Not many ganks after to punish these, but EG at least got the first drake with their bot pressure. In response, IMT dove top with three to get the first blood on Revenge. Even with the advantage on the top side, IMT lost the first Herald fight 2-for-1 and the objective went to EG, while Danny got a solo kill in bot lane on Lost. EG then ganked bot killing lost once more, getting the first tower with plates and then getting their second drake which pushed the gold lead to 1.1k. EG had dominance over objectives as got the second Herald, but they lost the third drake after Impact died a fourth time in the game. IMT also got the next drake after another pick on Impact, but an extended fight meant three return kills for EG and a Baron.

The Baron push wasn’t too big as EG couldn’t get any inner towers, but they still developed their gold lead which was approaching 6k at the 28th minute. EG got their inhib after a triple kill from Danny, but he got caught himself 30 seconds later by Revenge and IMT got a Baron of their own. IMT also got the drake to tie it at 3-3 and brought the gold difference to 2k. Just before the soul Impact and Jojo got caught which meant EG had no chance to contest. Then IMT got another Baron after a great play from Revenge, which tied the gold even though nearly everyone was full build at this point. The nailbiter ended at the Elder Drake as Inspired had a clutch steal and EG aced IMT to finish the closest game of the day.

  • Teams: IMT – EG
  • Time: 46:20
  • Kills: 15 – 18
  • Turrets: 5 – 9
  • Gold: 80.4k – 83.4k
  • Dragons: 4 – 4
  • Barons: 2 – 1
