At the MultiVersus panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. and Player First Studio reveal their newest characters LeBron, Rick, and Morty.
MultiVersus is currently in early access beta, via Twitch Drops from watching a streamer playing the game for an hour.
Early Access for the beta began on Jul. 19 and will officially release on Jul. 26.
LeBron James
The panel at SDCC, hosted by developers and voice actors Matthew Lillard, and Tara Strong revealed the first character that will release on the official beta release, LeBron James. LeBron coming from Space Jam: A New Legacy will release on the official release of the beta on Jul.26.
Together with the announcement, a gameplay trailer is available to preview his playstyle a few days before his official release.
With the release of LeBron, the roster now boasts a total of 16 characters in the official release of the game. LeBron will be a bruiser that uses his basketball to attack enemies, including throwing his ball and dunking it on opponents.
Rick & Morty
The next characters revealed in the panel will be the main characters of the animated show Rick & Morty. The characters will be available the same day as season 1 starts. Player First Studio confirms the release of Season 1 will begin on Aug. 9.
Currently, there is no trailer for Rick & Morty, the characters are shown to be separate characters. The game features duo characters such as Tom & Jerry, however, Rick and Morty seem to be separate characters.

Rick & Morty releasing on Aug. 9, just after the official tournament that will be at EVO 2022.
EVO will take place in Las Vegas, Nev. in the Exhibit Halls in the South Convention Center at Mandalay Bay. The finals will take place in the Michelob ULTRA Arena. The event will run from Aug. 5 to Aug 7.
The tournament will focus on 2v2s where the top 32 teams will win cash from the prize pool. The format of the tournament will be double elimination, with a winners and losers bracket. LeBron will be playable at the tournament, however, Rick & Morty will be absent due to the timing of the tournament.
Multiverse and the open beta will be available for PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
