MSI 2023 Schedule, Results and Everything Else You Need To Know

Everything you need to know about the upcoming MSI 2023 held in London, United Kingdom.


Mid-Season Invitational is one of the two international events Riot organizes every year where teams from nine regional leagues battle it out for a shot at the title. Usually overshadowed by the end-of-the-year tournament, Worlds, MSI is looking a lot more competitive and exciting this year thanks to its new format and the increased number of teams from the four major regions.

The event will take place at the Copper Box Arena in London, between May 2 and May 21.

MSI 2023 will have a completely new format

MSI 2023 has a complete format overhaul. Best-of-ones during the event is now a thing of the past and the stages will be played in best-of series. A total of 13 teams will be attending the Mid-Season Invitational. From these, eight teams will start their journey in the Play-in Stage, while the remaining five will be directly seeded into the Bracket Stage.

Play-in Stage

  • 8 teams participate: LPL 2nd seed, LEC 2nd seed, LCS 2nd seed, PCS, VCS, LJL, CBLOL, LLA
  • Teams are drawn into two different double elimination brackets
  • Play-in Stage games are best of threes
  • The two teams that go 2-0 are qualified for the Bracket Stage
  • Teams that go 1-2 are eliminated from MSI
  • The two teams that finish 2-1 and win their side of the lower bracket will play a Bo5 Last Chance Qualifier for the last Bracket Stage spot

Bracket Stage

  • 8 teams participate: LCK 1st seed, LCK 2nd seed, LPL 1st seed, LEC 1st seed, LCS 1st seed, Three qualified teams from Play-in
  • One double elimination bracket
  • All games are best of fives
  • Bracket Stage draw will be held after the Play-in ends
