Nintendo Direct leaker begins leaking games for next event

Original (9/8): Pyoro, who has been established as a reliable leaker, is now starting to tease and reveal announcements for the next Nintendo Direct.

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s a new Nintendo Direct in September. Events are always held during the beginning or middle of the month ahead of the Tokyo Game Show. Now with a new Nintendo Direct right around the corner, Pyoro again seems to have some early information.

Pyoro’s first tease is the following: “Let’s just say fans of a certain MATLAB function will be happy with the upcoming Direct”. Fans quickly figured out that this was very likely F-Zero, with Final Fantasy Tactics and Metroid Prime as other possibilities. But F-Zero is the general consensus, especially with Pyoro liking a tweet reply with that game.

Apparently there’ll be more leaks to come here in the future. We’ll update you with anything else that’s notable, though only in this post – we won’t be putting it elsewhere for those looking to go into the upcoming presentation blind.

As for why you should be giving Pyoro the time of day, before the June Nintendo Direct, he said that a new 2D Super Mario Bros. game will be announced. Also teased was a remake of a classic SNES game – which turned out to be Super Mario RPG. Other previous leaks included the announcement timing of Everybody 1-2 Switch, Samba de Amigo: Party Festival, and Greavard for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet.

Update: Pyoro has tweeted again and has now suggested that a Donkey Kong game will be announced during the Nintendo Direct.

Update (9/9): We have a couple of updates on this. First, regarding the Donkey Kong game, it seems that it’ll actually be Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

Elsewhere, Pyoro brought up that Pac-Man 99 will soon be discontinued. Some people believe this is a sign that the F-Zero game will be something like F-Zero 99. However, that’s complete speculation for the time being.

Lastly, while it would seem obvious, the previously-teased Princess Peach game should be showing up as well:
