Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals we’re looking forward to in 2021

In a surprise twist, it was the supermarkets that had the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals last year. They had Switch consoles going for as cheap as £230 over the sales event – some of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen! Stock was quite limited though, so you’d have been lucky to grab one. What does that mean for 2021, though?

Well, since the announcement of the Switch OLED, we have already seen a price drop for the standard Nintendo Switch. It seems a likely bet that we’ll see even bigger savings and better offers in this year’s Nintendo Switch Black Friday 2021 deals. As for Switch OLED Black Friday deals, stock is still fairly difficult to get hold of and we can’t imagine any wild discounts to appear as a result – although we may get some consoles bundled in with cheap third-party accessories as retailers aim to clear through their accessories stock.

All of that said, the best offers may be hiding on the Nintendo Switch Lite. The already much-more-affordable handheld iteration of the Switch was reduced to £180 last year in a bundle with Animal Crossing New Horizons and a 3-month Switch Online membership. Still one of the console’s biggest titles, this bundle bargain may be repeated in this year’s Black Friday sale. We don’t have much longer to wait to find out…

With the new Switch OLED now available, we could see Nintendo looking to shift some of the older consoles more aggressively this year. A lot of bargain hunters will have their attention on hunting down PS5 stock and Xbox Series X stock as well, so will Nintendo have to go the extra mile to stand out?

There are some early bird deals out there right now, including a standard Switch console with the option of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Let’s Go Pikachu for £298.99 at Amazon UK. With still a couple of weeks to go until this year’s big event, here are the best prices on Nintendo Switch console bundles right now.

And in the US…

Nintendo always play it safe when discounting first-party games, so we’re not expecting anything more beyond the usual 33 per cent off for digital titles, but big discounts on third-party games seem quite likely to reappear.

We’ll be looking out for offers on Animal Crossing New Horizons, Super Mario 3D World and Breath of the Wild as some of the biggest games in recent years – especially with a sequel to the latter still in the works. It seems unlikely that some of this year’s bigger releases such as Pokémon Snap and Skyward Sword HD will be reduced, but we’ll keep an eye out for an offer.

Ultimately, time will tell what they’ve got in store but we wouldn’t expect much higher discounts than last year’s selection. If you can’t wait until Black Friday to get your hands on some new Nintendo Switch titles, Amazon currently has £10 off a selection of impressive titles, and there are similar deals from GameStop for those of you in the US. Check them out below.

Nintendo Switch SD cards, controllers and cases are just some of the most sought-after accessories for the console. Once again, we expect a decent selection of them to receive reductions.

We’ll also be looking closely for any reductions on the Skyward Sword Joy-Cons – as long as they haven’t all sold out by November! Other more standard Joy-Con variations might get a small price cut over Black Friday, so watch out for that too.

That’s it for now. Hopefully, that’s given you some idea of what Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals to look out for this year.

If you’re more into other consoles, we’ve also put our thinking caps on to consider the PS5 Black Friday and Xbox Black Friday bargains that might grace us with their presence in 2021. Either way, make sure you’re keeping an eye on the Jelly Deals Twitter, where we’ll continue posting new offers through the year ahead.
