A new category of user icons was just added to Nintendo Switch Online. Rather than going with a specific game or franchise, holiday themed designs are now up for grabs.
One thing that has stayed the same is the overall selection. Characters, backgrounds, and frames are all here as usual. Highlighted series include Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, and Pikmin.
To get your hands on the icons, you’ll first need to be a Nintendo Switch Online member. Then each one will be available for 5 or 10 My Nintendo Platinum Points. If you end your subscription at any point, you’ll still be able to use them.
One difference is that Nintendo has dumped everything immediately. Typically icons are rolled out in waves across a few weeks, but all of the designs are immediately available. You’ll be able to claim them until December 25 at 4:59 PM PT / 7:59 PM ET. If anything interests you, be sure to claim it before the icons are removed at the end of next month.
