Overwatch 2 Will Not Get Any More Betas in Lead Up to October Launch

Blizzard has announced that Overwatch 2 will not be getting any more betas in the lead up to its October release. The announcement was made by vice president Jon Spector on Twitter.

“Today marks just 2 months until Overwatch 2‘s launch,” said Spector on Twitter. “We know players are eager to dive in and have seen questions about the possibility of a third public beta.”

“While we continue testing OW2 daily internally, we’re not planning any additional public Beta tests.”

Development on Overwatch 2 is likely going on at full steam, especially with the upcoming game’s implementation of new heroes, such as the Junker Queen.

Overwatch 2‘s second beta went live back in June, and was only available either by being picked for the beta by Blizzard, or by purchasing the Watchpoint Pack. The beta introduced Junker Queen as a playable character, as well as cross-platform multiplayer.

Blizzard had recently begun surveying players on how it can monetise Overwatch 2‘s skins. The game won’t feature loot boxes, and will instead have battle passes and in in-game store. The survey reportedly asked players their opinions on skins that could cost $44.99.

The company has since come out to state that the survey wasn’t indicative of final pricing for the game’s cosmetics. Blizzard has also confirmed that the battle pass will be priced at 1,000 Virtual Currency, which comes in at somewhere between $10 and $15.
