Overwatch 2 is clearly getting ready for one of the biggest releases and seasons it has ever had. The second installment of the game will have been out for a little less than a year once Season 6 has gone live but it is setting up to be Overwatch’s most important one. With story mode coming, Blizzard and the Overwatch team are preparing fans for what is coming next. Overwatch Genesis was just announced and it looks like the first Overwatch Anime mini-series is on its way. Here is the Overwatch Genesis Schedule for all three episodes.

The background story to Overwatch and Overwatch 2 has always been, humans versus ominics. At least to some capacity. There has been an understanding that a war between the two is what caused Overwatch to be created in the first place. Beyond that, players and fans have only seen bits and pieces of what happened before in quick cinematics or shorter comics.

Now it seems as though the Overwatch 2 team is ready to reveal the who story. With Overwatch Genesis, it looks as though fans will be taken back to the beginning and what happened leading up to the launch of story mode.

This three-part mini-series looks like it will have the classic Overwatch team fighting against the omnics. It also looks like it will explore how the omnics even came to be in the first place.

There is no doubt that any Overwatch lore fans will not be beyond excited to see what all the Overwatch team has put together.
