Refreshed’, ‘Death Becomes You’, Plus Today’s Other New Releases and Sales – TouchArcade

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 4th, 2023. In today’s article, we first go through the less-than-thrilling remaining releases for the week. After summarizing those, we have the matter of the new sales to attend to. Some interesting games in there at good prices, as usual for a Friday. We also have the discounts that are set to expire over the weekend, though there aren’t many this time. Let’s finish out this week!

New Releases

Farm Frenzy: Refreshed ($9.99)

Wow, that’s a name i haven’t heard in a while. Farm Frenzy was a full-on trend for a while back in the day, and this is a port of the new 3D version that came out a couple of years back on other platforms. It might look shinier than the old game, but the gameplay is pretty much the same. Each of the more than one hundred level sees you trying to finish a set number of tasks as fast as you can, managing your resources and livestock to produce goods you can sell. If you liked it then, there’s a good chance you’ll like it now.

Death Becomes You ($7.99)

A murder most heinous has occurred at a magical university in this visual novel. Your best friend has been killed, and you’ve found four very suspicious students at the scene of the crime. But it turns out they think you’re suspicious as well, so you have to prove your innocence while trying to find out the truth of the matter. Make your choices and arrive at one of more than ten endings. Only one of those paths will bring you to the best outcome, so think carefully before you act. This one is more about solving a mystery than smooching, so don’t expect a ton of smooching. Just setting expectations here.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg ($14.99)

Strategy fans seem to have a particular love for certain historical battles, and Gettysburg is one that comes up pretty often. This real-time strategy game has been ported over from computers, and it seems to have a pretty good reputation there. It’s laser-focused, containing just one battle consisting of five or six situations. Replay value come from the variety of AI personalities you can choose from, theoretically mixing things up when doing additional run throughs.

Slime Girl Smoothies ($14.99)

You can always count on eastasiasoft to not only bring the horny, but also bring the unusual kind of horny. Those who have a thing for slime girls are getting some food with this one. You’re managing a smoothie bar where all the hostesses are slime girls. Making the smoothies works like a puzzle game, and you can unlock new pictures and such as you go. I’ll let you decide if this is your groove or not.

Cooking Arena ($4.99)

So this is just Food Truck Tycoon with several other of Baltoro’s cooking-themed games available as paid DLC. Had I known that from the get-go, I probably wouldn’t even have bothered to include it here. Sadly, as we all know, my backspace key is broken so I can’t do anything about it now. If you love these generic time management things and want to save on some icon clutter, here you go.

Sales

(North American eShop, US Prices)

What’s up in the inbox today? A few Kairosoft games hit new lows, Zombie Rollerz offers a very nice price, and Caged Garden Cock Robin is on sale. I certainly am not pointing that out due to some childish amusement at typing the title Caged Garden Cock Robin. In the weekend outbox, Sifu is wrapping up its latest discount period. A fun game, that one. Check those lists as ever.
