Just finished it through PS Extra. Found it to be very solid, considering the harsh criticism it got at launch. Enjoyed how I would alternate during combat between melee and ranged in interesting ways depending on the scenario I found my self in, which I found well implemented. The game also looks and sounds excellent. Storywise the script is fine, interesting to the point of not being too cliche, but I do found the ending made the game feel incomplete, leaving the player on a “DLC cliffhanger”. Other than that, I see it as a solid 8.
Edit: I agree with you. The habit of overcomparing one game to another, which translates later on into frustration, has become too common in this industry currently
