Round Up: All Our Game of the Year 2023 Winners

@Deoxyr1bose We don’t know if there’s a third person action adventure game or not yet. I mean, we essentially know the release schedule through April with some odds and ends. From May-December, the release schedule looks like Wukong… and that’s it. Hopefully Rebirth is that big title that unifies the gaming media and carries the year early on though. And hopefully 2024 shows a surprise first party title or two from Sony.

I agree with @themightyant. We need the individual staffer lists linked here. It was a really diverse set this year and I honestly looked more forward to those lists than the countdown this year.

I’ve got to say it too: as much as I don’t agree with Spider-Man 2 winning and I wouldn’t even put it in my own top 10, I’m actually glad it beat out Baldur’s Gate, even if I like Baldur’s Gate more as a game. I’m just really tired of seeing Baldur’s Gate win everything when I just sort of think it’s a bit overrated personally. Oh, the roleplaying is fantastic, but the gameplay is not for everyone. I myself have forced myself to play it quite a bit this year and I find it to be a more fun game to talk about then play. It doesn’t help that it launched as a buggy mess for me on PS5 and for others as a mess on Xbox. I’m glad most of you admitted that you tried it and it didn’t stick. It’s really refreshing to me since I felt the same and there was a point earlier this year where I almost felt like I was insane for feeling that way. I like Push Square for its honesty and I’m glad you all chose what felt right for you all… and it matched with the site vote too!
