Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for August 2022 Have Leaked

Guess who’s back? Yep, Dealabs, the French retail site, has once again unveiled what is almost certainly August’s PS Plus Essential monthly games. Sony might have revamped its subscription service recently, but it’s yet to plug this particularly tricky leak. So consistent has Dealabs been with these that we’re not sure it’s even a rumour, to be honest.

Anyway, you’re here for the games, so what’s the retailer saying this time? If true, August 2022’s PS Plus Essential monthly games are:

A very strong selection, we’re sure most would agree. The Tony Hawk remake collection is fantastic, recapturing what made those early games so great while modernising them with better controls and solid presentation.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is an interesting pick; it’s actually the most unusual game in the series, focusing on a new cast of characters and swapping out the beat-’em-up action combat for something akin to a turn-based RPG. It’s a massive game with brilliant humour and a story stuffed with melodrama, and Ichiban Kasuga is a great lead.

Finally, Little Nightmares is an eerie, atmospheric puzzle platformer that we’d also recommend. It feels like LittleBigPlanet only with grotesque, creepy bad guys trying to stop you escaping a messed up facility.

These will join the list of All PS Plus Games very soon indeed (presuming they’re legit), and Sony will confirm the official lineup in a matter of hours. We’ll of course keep you updated as it all happens.
