Having been unbeaten in each of their last 10 matches, Beijing Guoan will be looking to extend their good run of form when they visit the Huitang Stadium to take on Shenzhen in round 10 of the Chinese Super League on Monday.
The hosts will be looking to get one over their visitors, having failed to win any of the last nine meetings between the sides since 2010.
Shenzhen returned to winning ways in the laegue as they defeated Cangzhou Mighty Lions 2-1 at the Wuhua Olympic Sports Centre Huitang Stadium last Thursday.
After trailing to Fuyu Ma’s opener in the 21st minute, the visitors rallied and upped their game as Tsun Dai and Shuai Pei scored to turn the game in their favour.
Lee Jang-Soo’s side were previously on a run of four consecutive matches without a win, picking up just one point from a possible 12 in that period.
They have now picked up four wins, one draw and lost four of their nine matches so far to collect 13 points and sit eighth in the league standings.
Meanwhile, Beijing Guoan were held to a goalless draw by Meizhou Hakka when they met at the Meixian Tsang Hin-chi Stadium last Thursday.
The Imperial Guards are now unbeaten in each of their last eight matches, claiming four wins and four draws since kicking off the season with a 2-1 home defeat against Cangzhou Mighty Lions on June 5.
This run has been due to their solid performance at the attacking end of the pitch, where they boast one of the division’s best records with 14 goals scored so far.
With 16 point from nine matches, Bejing Guoan are fifth in the table, level on points with Shanghai Port and four behind third-placed Henan Songshan Longmen in the final AFC Champions League qualifictaion spot.
