Side-Scroller Phantom Blade: Executioners Kicks Off Final Beta – Droid Gamers

The Phantom Blade: Executioners beta begins its final round of tests today before the game’s full release. You can try it out for yourself via the game’s official Twitter.

Phantom Blade: Executioners is an action game set in a Noir universe called the ‘Phantom World’. In this world, an evil, corrupting power is turning great fighters into inhuman monsters, increasing their strength to an unnatural degree at the cost of their immortal souls.

You take on the role of one of the Organization, a shadowy society attempting to broker peace in a chaotic world. You must find who is behind these sinister events, and put a stop to them at any cost.

Choices Matter

Your choices will influence the progress of the story, with events playing out very differently depending on how you choose to approach them, or if you intervene at all.

These story choices draw from the Phantom system, where you can acquire ‘Phantoms’ that bring buffs to the character in battle, as well as potentially unlock situational story options.

You’ll find most of the gameplay combat-focused, in the vein of a side-scrolling beat-em-up, with different characters to choose from. You won’t have to worry about character gacha, though the game has its share of roll-based stuff inside. You get a selection of characters from the outset.

Don’t Get Too Attached To Your Progress

The game comes with a very striking visual style, and cross-platform play that makes it easy to pick up the PC version and continue a save.

Interested in taking part in the beta? Keep in mind that you will progress disappears with the change into the full-release build. You’ll find microtransactions in the beta. Though, the developer S-GAME promises a 200% refund of anything spent before the full release. Just be aware that you won’t keep anything you get!
