Silent Hope devs on sequel interest

Could Silent Hope get a sequel in the future? That’s something a couple of the game’s developers touched on in a recent interview.

Producer Makoto Shioda and Moribo both seem interested in a follow-up, and they expressed as such while speaking with Nintendo Dream. Multiplayer is something that could end up in a new game as that unfortunately didn’t make it into the final version.

Shioda and Moribo said the following when asked about a possible Silent Hope sequel:

We do hear voices calling for a sequel. What are your thoughts on that?

Shioda: That makes us very happy. At this time there is no concrete plan for one, but there are many things we wanted to do. This time in order to keep the gameplay simple we did not include multiplayer, but personally I would like to try playing with lots of people.

Moribo: This is a personal thought, but I want to see what happens to the seven protagonists after the game.

Shioda: Yeah, I’m also curious about what kind of lives they lead after.

(The two reminisce about after the ending of the game)

Shioda: At this time our development team is already working on our next title Project Life is RPG, so if we do develop a sequel, it will be a little while yet, but I think I would like to try sometime.

Marvelous announced Project Life is RPG during a showcase earlier this year. Very little is known at present, but the company said its goal with the project is “to create a fresh RPG that pays respect to its roots”.

Would you be up for a Silent Hope sequel and a new game that incorporates multiplayer? Let us know in the comments.
