SKADE teams up with The Federation of Norwegian Industries

Norwegian esports organization SKADE has announced a partnership with The Federation of Norwegian Industries (NI).

As part of the one-year deal, both parties will work together to increase the recruitment rate of young gamers and esports fans into Norwegian industrial companies.

According to the release, SKADE and NI do intend to expand their partnership, which will feature a content series and a showcase of work opportunities. Moreover, NI will become an official SKADE partner and support all national activities for the organisation.

The purpose of the collaboration is to also highlight the similarities between the industrial and esports sectors as both utilise the same digital tools in production practices. SKADE and NI teaming up will also lay the foundation for the organisation to further connect with local companies and expand its foothold within the country. 

NI is the latest addition to SKADE’s growing roster of partners, joining the likes of Kvarøy Arctic, the Norwegian Seafood Council and analytics firm Cavea

Morten Skaland, CEO of SKADE, commented on the partnership: “We experience that several companies here are desperate for more technical competence. Esports fans and enthusiasts are known for being technology literate and having specific IT expertise.

“Together with our new partner, we will show how this relevant competence can be transferred to industrial jobs and all the opportunities within the sector.”

The two parties did not share details about the campaign, such as when the activations will take place, or any financial details.
