Slay The Spire 2 Announced; Sequel To Launch In Early Access in 2025

Mega Crit announced the sequel to the smash-hit roguelike deck builder, Slay the Spire.


Slay the Spire 2 turned out be such an iconic game that it went to inspire a series of roguelike card deck builders. Through a trailer video, Mega Crit revealed the early animation for Slay the Spire 2, and the game slated to launch in early access for players sometime during 2025.

Slay The Spire 2 To Feature a New Hero, and More

The trailer was revealed during the Triple Indie-I showcase, and the sequel to 2017’s Slay the Spire is slated to feature a new hero as well. While the trailer cinematic didn’t give us a look at the gameplay, Slay the Spire 2’s Steam page gives us a peek at the gameplay screenshots, and players can wishlist the game. However, we don’t hav an exact release date from Mega Crit, the developers plan to share more information about the roguelike deck builder soon. Also, in a surprising announcment, the developers also revealed that the game will no longer use Unity, and instead be developed using Godot, an open-source game engine.

Slay the Spire 2 is expected to release sometime during 2025.
