Sonic Superstars has finally been released, and fans of the hedgehog are excited about it. In the latest Sonic installment, players must travel through the Northstar Islands to harness the Emeral powers to save the world. The Sonic Team introduces enhanced graphics, new environments, never-before-seen attacks, and local co-op mode in Sonic Superstars. 

Players can become Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy Rose to stop Dr. Eggman and a new enemy named Fang. Let’s dive into the details of each playable character below.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose can use a Spin Dash, a burst of speed, and jump. On top of that, each playable character has a unique ability to brag about.

Sonic

The hedgehog we all know and love is, of course, the fastest character of them all. His ability, known as the Drop Dash, allows him to build momentum at a ridiculous rate. Sonic can also do a Spin Dash right after landing. Use him if you value speed the most.

Tails

This intelligent fox ses his tails to propel himself wherever he wants. With this ability, Tails is an excellent choice for those who’d like to explore all nooks and crannies of every level. He can even carry a friend with him.

Knuckles

Knuckles can glide for a short while and also cling to walls. This red echidna can soar across dangerous areas, so use him when you need to make big jumps. He can also avoid difficult foes with his ability. Some players report Knuckles being a little clunky to use. It may take some practice to get used to playing him. 

Amy Rose

Amy Rose is one of the best characters to use in Sonic Superstars. The pink hedgehog spins her Piko Piko Hammer as she jumps, allowing her to reflect enemy some projectiles. Her double jump ability makes it easier to reach high platforms and dodge attacks as well.
