Last week on the Weekly MTG steam, the Magic: the Gathering team gave viwers their very first look at the newest set – Phyrexia: All Will Be One. Throughout the stream the hosts described just exactly what players could expect from the incoming Standard set. While they did discuss the story beats and highlighted new packaging for the set, the majority of the audience came in hopes to see some card spoilers.

Typically prior to a set release, the Weekly MTG stream will provide some amount of spoilers to generate excitement for the set, and this was no different. Several cards were revealed during the stream, including a couple of familiar characters making their return to Standard Magic. Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines
Type: Legendary Creature – Phyrexian Praetor
Text: Vigilance. If a permanent entering the battlefield causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time. Permanents entering the battlefield don’t cause abilities of permanents your opponents control to trigger.

Koth, Fire of Resistance
Type: Legendary Planeswalker – Koth
Text: +2: Search your library for a basic Mountain card, reveal it, put it into your hand then shuffle.
-3: Koth, Fire of Resistance deals damage to target creature equal to the number of Mountains you control.
-7: You get an emblem with “Whenever a Mountain enters the battlefield under your control, this emblem deals 4 damage to any target.

Jor Kadeen, First Goldwarden
Type: Legendary Creature – Human Rebel
Text: Trample. Whenever Jor Kadeen, First Goldwarden attacks, it gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of equipped creatures you control. Then if Jor Kadeen’s power is 4 of greater, draw a card.

Slobad, Iron Goblin
Type: Legendary Creature – Phyrexian Goblin Artificer
Text: Tap, Sacrifice an artifact: Add an amount of R equal to the sacrificed artifact’s mana value. Spend this mana only yo cast artifact spells of activate abilities of artifacts.

Power/Toughness: 3/3
Rarity: Rare
Phyrexian Obliterator
Type: Creature – Phyrexian Horror
Text: Trample. Whenever a source deals damage to Phyrexian Obliterator, that source’s controller sacrifices that many permanents.

Power/Toughness: 5/5
Rarity: Mythic
Blue Sun’s Twilight
Type: Sorcery
Text: Gain control of target creature with mana value X or less. If X is 5 or more, create a token that’s a copy of that creature.
