SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Train Valley’, ‘Arsonist Heaven’, and Today’s Other New Releases, Plus the Latest Sales

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for July 27th, 2022. Today is a pretty significant anniversary for me on a personal level, so I need to duck out a bit early. Fortunately for me, there isn’t too much going on in the world of the Switch. We’ve got a handful of new releases to look at, and then the usual lists of new sales and expiring discounts. Let’s get to it!

New Releases

Arsonist Heaven ($4.99)

Big five dollar Switch platformer energy, and bucking recent trends it’s actually five dollars. There are a couple of gimmicks to help this one stand out. First is that you have a jetpack, and that’s going to make a lot of people happy right there. Second is that while you have an assortment of weapons at your disposal, all of them have limited ammo. If you run out before finding more, you’ll have no way to defend yourself. Yeah, this seems okay for the price.

GemaBoy Zero Origins ($12.34)

I really wish I could get into the stuff from Nape Games, but there’s just something about the games that don’t work me. They keep coming though, so clearly they’re working for a lot of people. This one seems vaguely inspired by Mega Man X, so you can wall-kick, shoot, pick your stage, get new weapons, and so on. There are also a handful of minigames that pay homage to various classic games and events. I’m guessing that anyone who enjoyed the Ploid games will be able to enjoy this one, so if that’s you, dig in.

Train Valley: Console Edition ($11.99)

This is a train set simulation/puzzle game that falls somewhere between the simple chaos of Mini Metro and a more full-blown train simulation game. Lay down the tracks and keep the trains moving to the places they’re supposed to go. There are five different seasons covering five different eras and locations, with a few different modes to dig into depending on what level of commitment and challenge you’re looking for. I’ll have a review of this one soon.

Jigoku Unko Toriporu ($3.25)

That is quite the title. In Hell Poop Triple, you play as a sentient poop that needs to punch its way out of Hell. Apparently you were once human but died after eating some spicy wasabi. You have to punch with good timing as you make your way through twelve chapters of the story. There are three different biome styles and three different characters to play as. I guess that’s the Triple part.

Some really good games in the list today, particularly if you enjoy a solid story. I will always vouch for Citizen Sleeper, and Paradise Killer is fantastic. Over in the outbox, Capcom’s latest sale is coming to an end. Grab the games you want now, or wait a month or so for them to go on sale again. Your choice. Check those lists either way!
