Tavon Austin Signs with Buffalo Bills

Wide receiver Tavon Austin has signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. The speedy wide out is now on his sixth NFL team since being drafted in 2013. The exact amount that Austin will receive on the contract is unknown at time of writing.

The Buffalo Bills’ official Twitter account reported the news on Friday morning.

Austin was selected with the eighth overall pick of the first round out of West Virginia by the then-St. Louis Rams. He spent five seasons with the Rams before being traded to the Cowboys for a sixth round selection, spending two years there. After his stint in Dallas he bounced around to San Francisco, Green Bay and Jacksonville.

In 2021, with the Jaguars, Austin played in 13 games, starting just three. He had 213 yards and one touchdown in that tumultuous season with the franchise. Early in his career, he was used as both a rushing and receiving threat. In 2015, his last year with the Rams, he scored five receiving touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns, both career-highs. Now, he will join a high-flying Bills offense that can hopefully use his twitchy athleticism.
