Amazon Prime Day deals 2022
It’s the second day of Amazon Prime Day PC gaming deals, which is admittedly a little confusing as it really should be called Prime Days. Anyways, the situation is unlike Black Friday, where bargains can vanish in an instant; there are surprisingly still plenty of the best deals live right now.
And that means it’s still a great time to see some heavy cuts on the best current-gen PC gaming hardware around. This is likely to be the last sales event before the new Intel and AMD processor ranges come out, and before AMD and Nvidia launch their new graphics cards, too, which only improves the chances of seeing deep discounts hang around even after Prime Day officially ends tonight. We’re seeing PC gaming deals on full gaming rigs, gaming laptops, CPUs, and yes, even deals on graphics cards.
What a world, eh? Wait for two years for GPUs to actually become available and suddenly there are so many that they go on sale. That’s partly because this generation is coming to an end, but also because the cryptocurrency mining boom has gone bust and second-hand graphics cards are likely to ease demand for brand new ones from this current generation.
The high end cards are the most likely so see serious discounts—indeed, there are already sub-MSRP RTX 3090 Ti and RX 6950 XT GPUs on offer today—but what you should really be looking out for are the mid-range cards, such as the RTX 3060 Ti. Those are likely the furthest away from being replaced by next-gen versions.
There’s also a bunch of Amazon’s own tech on offer, alongside other PC components, peripherals, gaming monitors, and gaming chairs. Look for good discounts on SSDs as the new PCIe 5.0 generation draws close, too.
When does Amazon Prime Day 2022 end?
The official answer is that Prime Day 2022 ends at 11.59pm on Wednesday July 13. But the more complicated answer is that it depends on your time zone. In the US, Amazon Prime Day ends at 11.59pm PDT Wednesday July 13, but that’s actually 2.59am EDT Thursday July 14.
In the UK it’s a more straightforward cut off at 11.59pm BST Wednesday July 13.
But that’s all for Amazon’s own specific deals, and we would expect to see deals from the likes of Newegg and Best Buy hanging around just that little bit longer.
