The DioField Chronicle gets a release date for September

Square Enix’s outing into the strategy RPG genre was confirmed for PC earlier this year, and now the publisher finally announced a release date for this new adventure. DioField Chronicle‘s release date is slated for late September. According to the publisher, it’s set to deliver a “deeply strategic RPG” in addition to a “compellingly deep story.” This story of war and honor is now available to pre-order on Steam, so if you’re excited about some more strategy RPG action, today is your lucky day.

DioField Chronicle features real-time combat, allowing you to give orders to your units while observing the battle. You’ll have to make decisions in time, as enemies won’t wait for you before moving in for their own attack. Your foes will continue to make moves and take turns under your nose, so you’ll have to strategize efficiently. Use your skills to overcome your enemies on some stunning-looking battlefields, and mark your victory in this new game.

Getting strategic

DioField Chronicle is a collaboration between Square Enix and Lancarse Ltd. Lancarse previously worked on other RPG games such as Monark and Persona Q2. The game also features character designs by the artist Taiki, who previously worked on the Lord of Vermillion franchise. We’re even getting a soundtrack by composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, who previously worked on freakin’ Game of Thrones. Now, that’s cool.

DioField Chronicle’s official release date is set for September 22. If you’re interested, can check out the game on Steam. The game will go for $59.99 USD, but there’s also a deluxe edition for $74.99 USD which comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack. Players who pre-order the game (standard or deluxe) will also receive some bonus content, including a Rhopasto Knife and Recruit’s Bangle.
