It’s that time of the year again. As the calendar winds down and the next year draws closer, the games industry is going to collectively look back at the last twelve months to celebrate the best of the best achievements. The Game Awards will serve as the biggest platform for that once again, but this is a show that’s always been about new game announcements and updates just as much as it is about the awards- and according to The Game Awards creator and producer Geoff Keighley, this year’s event is shaping up to be bigger than ever.

In a clip uploaded by The Game Awards’ official Twitter page, Keighley speaks about what’s in store for this year’s show, explaining that more than anything else, players will get a good idea of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are really going to have on offer in the coming years. Keighley says players can expect plenty of surprises, and promises plenty of gameplay and in-engine showings. Check out the clip below.

Previously, Keighley said that The Game Awards 2021 will feature 40-50 games in some capacity, with double digit new announcements. While nothing has been confirmed as yet, speculation has suggested that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 could be one of the games that shows up. Meanwhile, a recent cryptic tease by Housemarque might be hinting at an upcoming announcement for Returnal DLC. Read more on that through here.
