The Sinking City 2 Announced for 2025 – MonsterVine

As part of the 2024 Xbox Partner Preview showcase, Frogwares officially revealed The Sinking City 2, the successor to their 2019 open world adventure game The Sinking City. Set in 1920s Arkham, this Lovecraftian sequel is set to go in a new direction by being a survival horror game with a focus on combat, exploration, and a Lovecraft-inspired story separate from that of the first game.

Players will use 1920s firearms and melee weapons to fight eldritch enemies, explore a semi-open world in which the flood waters change the layout of locations as you progress, balance limited resources, and solve puzzles in a new take on the studio’s traditional detective mechanics, which makes it an optional mechanic for players who want to find secrets, lore, and other rewards. According to the developers, accessibility options will be available for fans who need help with the survival horror mechanics, particularly since that gameplay is such a departure from its predecessor.

The Sinking City 2 is planned for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. A Kickstarter campaign will launch later this year to provide a safety net for Frogwares and allow them to add additional features to the game.

The game will be out in 2025.
