Udinese vs Genoa Match Analysis and Prediction

After Andriy Shevchenko made a losing debut as Genoa’s head coach last weekend, they will be looking for an evasive second victory of the campaign, while Udinese have picked just three points this month and are at the 15th spot.

Having seen his new team collapse into the relagation zone following a 10-game winless run, Genoa’s new coach will already be aware of the significant task ahead of him to revive the team.

One win in their first 12 league games has left Genoa lagging in the bottom three, and they could be repeating last year’s pattern.

Genoa’s loss at home to Roma last Sunday was their third from six winless home games, leaving them in much need of an away win this weekend as their upcoming schedule looks tough.

After their Sunday fixture, the injury-hit side will take on Milan and Juventus to kick off December, before their first Derby della Lanterna against Sampdoria.

Meanwhile,Udinese are climbing down towards the bottom of the table themselves, due to lack of performance that has seen them win just one of their last 10 league games.

After four draws in a row, Luca Gotti’s men have lost two of their last three, with victory over Sassuolo being in between Inter and Torino’s defeats.

A bottom-half team in Serie A throughout the last eight seasons, Udinese seem to be set for another season of hard work.

Luca Gotti is suffering a similar tale this season, as once again the forwards have failed to deliver a consistent goal-scoring potential. Only the bottom-on-table Salernitana have scored fewer goals than Udenese’s 10 since their only away win at Speazia in September.

As a result of their lack of firepower, Udinese have won just two of their last Serie A home fixtures, so they will not take anything to chance this weekend.

Udinese news

Udinese are expecting no absentees and would have Ignacio Pussetto and Gerard Deulofeu start in support of striker Beto, with Isaac Success and Fernando Forestieri offering attacking options from the bench. Atletico Madrid loanee Nehuen Perez could come in at right-back.

Genoa news

Nikola Masimovic, Mattia Bani and captain Domenico Criscito will be missing, while hamstring injuries would mean Felipe Caicedo and Mattia Destro may not feature here.

In the possible absence Caicedo and Destro, forward Goran Pandev and Caleb Ekuban could start up front.

Prediction and Odds

Udinese have drawn majority of their last seven league games and would experience the same fate on Sunday, as their failure to score goals could cost them.
