UK boxed charts of Black Friday week – WholesGame

EA Sports FC 24

Black Friday has come and gone, and almost every game on this week’s chart benefitted from deep discounts. In total, UK physical game sales were up 7% from last year’s Black Friday weekend.

First up is EA Sports FC 24, with an eye-popping 101% sales increase. The majority of the sales were for the PlayStation 5. The continued success of EA’s latest football title, even after the loss of the FIFA license, is a great sign for the company going into 2024.

Hogwarts Legacy, one of this year’s biggest success stories, slipped to No. 2, but its record-setting run looks set to continue into the New Year. At No. 3 is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, a critical and commercial disappointment, that fell 30% in overall sales from last week.

The Nintendo Switch exclusive Super Mario Bros Wonder and PlayStation 5 exclusive Spider-Man 2 came in at the 4th and 5th place respectively. Each title had a small sales jump from last week, but they pale in comparison to the titles lower down the chart.

Rounding out the top 10 are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, going from number 11 to back into the top 10 at number 8, and Nintendo Switch Sports, which climbed two spots to No. 7. Assassin’s Creed Mirage somehow managed to remain at No. 8 during this hectic sales period.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor went from No. 32 to No. 10 following a massive 400% gain thanks to deep Black Friday discounts. Likewise, God of War: Ragnarok climbed back into the top 20 at number 18 with a 102% gain. Resident Evil 4 went from the 36th to 22th place with again, a boost from discounted prices.

Racing title F1 23 had a 300% increase in sales, while other titles, including Street Fighter 6, Just Dance 2023, Stray, Diablo 4, WWE 2k23, and the LEGO Harry Potter Collection also had significant increases over the sales holiday.

Below are the best-selling boxed video games in the UK for the week ending November 25, 2023.
