(Update) ‘Hades’ From Supergiant Games Is Finally Coming Soon to iOS Through Netflix Games – TouchArcade

Netflix has been bringing some amazing new original games and ports to iOS and Android through its Netflix Games initiative, but today’s reveal is easily my favorite. I adore Supergiant Games’ releases like Bastion and Transistor, and even enjoyed Pyre quite a bit. Hades is the best game by the studio alongside Transistor, and I’ve bought and played it on Steam, Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox platforms over the years. I kept wondering when it would come to mobile, and the answer is apparently “Soon” (Update: confirmed to be coming next year) through Netflix Games. If you’ve not played it yet, Hades is a superb rogue-like dungeon crawler with amazing characters with great voice acting, brilliant music, one of the best gameplay loops out there, and stunning visuals. Supergiant Games confirmed that they worked with Secret6 for this iOS version and that the iOS version will offer fully customizable touchscreen controls and controller support. Watch the Hades Netflix trailer for iOS below:

Hades is currently available on PC and Switch with cross platform save support. It is also on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date for Netflix hasn’t been announced, but I find it interesting that Netflix’s announcement only mentions iOS and not mobile (Android as well) like with other games. The Supergiant Games blog confirms that they have no plans for additional versions of Hades at this time to address whether it was coming to Android. I’m definitely excited to have an excuse to replay Hades on yet another platform and will be covering it on multiple iOS and iPadOS devices when I get access to it. Right now, Hades on Steam Deck is my favorite way to play it, and I’m curious to see how it plays on iOS since the Switch version doesn’t run as smoothly as I had hoped it would. Have you played Hades before or will you be trying it through Netflix?

Update: Added details on the port from the Supergiant Games blog and information about Android.
