To this day, there has been a total of five VCT Masters, one VCT LOCK//IN, and two Valorant Champion events held. The glorious of them all, the Valorant Champions franchise will soon have a new addition on August 6, 2023. Therefore, it’s high time we look back in high praise at all the teams who overcome ample difficulty to lift the trophies of these honorable events.

VCT Masters Reykjavík 2021 – Sentinels

Sentinels, a North American VALORANT team, made history by winning the inaugural international event of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) in 2021. The team features ShahZaM, SicK, zombs, dapr, and TenZ.

ShahZaM, captain and in-game leader of Sentinels, excels as the primary operator user. He’s renowned for his clutch plays and versatile agent pool, excelling with Jett and Sova.

Dapr, the sentinel for Sentinels, excels as Cypher or Killjoy. He is the team’s defensive backbone, utilizing traps and gadgets to thwart enemy plans. He also excels as a rifler and lurker, surprising opponents with his flanks and aggressive playstyle.

TenZ, loaned from Cloud9, has joined Sentinels for VCT Masters Reykjavík. He is considered one of the top VALORANT players globally, known for his exceptional aim and mechanics. He primarily plays Jett or Reyna but can adapt to other agents as necessary. He’s a highlight machine, consistently delivering insane flicks and headshots.

This group of players was a dominant force in the VALORANT scene, overpowering opponents with their teamwork, strategy, and skill, rightfully deserving the VCT Masters Reykjavík champions title.

VCT Masters Berline 2021 – Gambit Esports

Gambit Esports crowned champions of VCT Masters Berlin, the second international VALORANT event. The team includes d3ffo, Chronicle, nAts, Redgar, and Sheydos, with players from Russia and Kazakhstan. 

d3ffo, the team’s primary sniper, excels with Jett or Sova. Renowned for his exceptional accuracy and flick shots, he possesses a remarkable talent for securing crucial rounds with his deadly precision using the Operator.

Nats, the team’s sentinel, excels as Cypher or Killjoy. He gathers intel and thwarts enemy assaults with his gadgets and cameras. He is skilled as a rifler and lurker, frequently catching opponents off guard with his flanking maneuvers. 

Redgar, the team’s in-game leader and controller, excels at playing Omen or Astra. He masterminded Gambit’s strategies, setting up smokes and stars for teammates while holding angles and sites. 

Sheydos, the team’s duelist, excels as Reyna or Raze. He is the team’s entry fragger and aggressor, initiating fights and opening sites with his flashes and explosives. With a strong impact and consistent performance, he frequently leads his team’s scoreboard.

Kiles, the team’s flex player, showcases versatility with agents like Skye, Sage, Omen, and Breach. Starxo, the team’s sentinel, excels as Cypher or Killjoy. Zeek, the team’s duelist, excels at playing Reyna or Raze. He’s the team’s entry fragger and aggressive participant. VCT Masters Reykjavík 2022 – OpTic Gaming

OpTic Gaming crowned VCT Masters Reykjavík champions, the first international VALORANT event of 2022. The North American team includes FNS, Victor, crashies, yay, and Marved.

FNS, the team’s in-game leader, controls the game as Omen or Astra. Victor, the team’s duelist, excels with Reyna or Raze. He earned the MVP title at VCT Masters Reykjavík, guiding his team to a flawless victory. Crashies, the team’s sentinel, excels as Cypher or Killjoy. Yay, the team’s main sniper frequently plays Jett. With remarkable accuracy and skill, he consistently propelled OpTic to improbable victories. Lastly, Marved excels at providing utility and support for his teammates while making intelligent plays and decisions. This formidable team of five players emerged victorious in the VALORANT scene, securing a flawless 3-0 victory over LOUD in the grand finals of VCT Masters Reykjavík. 

VCT Masters Copenhagen 2022 – FunPlus Pheonix

FunPlus Phoenix, a top VALORANT team, emerged victorious at the Masters in Copenhagen. The team features five skilled players hailing from diverse backgrounds. ANGE1, the team’s captain and in-game leader. He is an experienced Counter-Strike player, having competed for HellRaisers and Virtus.pro. 

Shao shines as the team’s star player and primary fragger. The former Overwatch pro transitioned to VALORANT in 2020. Zyppan, the team’s secondary fragger, is a Swedish prodigy who began his VALORANT career with FABRIKEN, a dominant force in the European scene.

SUYGETSU, the team’s support player and utility specialist, is a Japanese pro who joined FunPlus Phoenix in 2021 after spells with Absolute JUPITER and Crazy Raccoon. He excels in utilizing agents such as Astra, Viper, and Killjoy with adaptability and creativity. Ardiis, the team’s sniper and anchor. The British player has been a VALORANT player since the beta release.

Valorant Champions 2022 – Loud

The Brazilian organization LOUD boasts a talented roster featuring aspas, Less, saadhak, tuyz, and cauanzin. LOUD secured spots in two international events, VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters – Reykjavík and VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters – Copenhagen, placing second and eleventh, respectively.

LOUD dominated the Valorant Champions 2022 group stage, winning all four matches against Team Liquid, Sentinels, FURIA, and NRG Esports. Advancing as Group A’s top seed, they faced OpTic Gaming in the quarterfinals, Evil Geniuses in the semifinals, and OpTic Gaming again in the grand finals.

LOUD displayed impressive resilience and skill, sweeping all three matches in a best-of-five playoff format. In the quarterfinals, they triumphed over OpTic Gaming 3-1, with saadhak delivering an ace in the final round of Bind. In the semifinals, they dominated Evil Geniuses, winning 3-0. Aspas showcased his skill by clutching a 1v3 on Haven. They triumphed over OpTic Gaming 3-1 in a thrilling grand finals rematch. Less sealed the victory with a triple-kill clutch on Icebox.

VCT LOCK//IN 2023 – Fnatic

Fnatic, a dominant force in Valorant, emerged victorious in the VCT LOCK//IN 2023, a groundbreaking global tournament featuring 32 elite franchised teams. Fnatic, led by IGL Boaster, showcases a talented and versatile roster. Derke, the Finnish prodigy, wields any weapon with precision. Alfajer, the Moroccan support, excels in clutch situations with sage walls and revives. Leo, the British star, efficiently handles entry fragging and lurking. Chronicle, the Russian genius, manipulates the map with Cypher traps and cameras. 

Fnatic’s innovative strategies and resilience were fully displayed in their epic final against LOUD. Despite facing a 3-11 deficit on Icebox, they made an impressive comeback to win the map 14-12 and secure the trophy. Fnatic:  is a relentless team that never surrenders and delivers spectacular performances. They are the reigning champions of VCT LOCK//IN 2023 and poised for continued success.

VCT Masters Tokyo 2023 – Fnatic

Fnatic is the undisputed champion of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo, the second international Valorant event of the year. The EMEA powerhouse swept Evil Geniuses 3-0 in the grand final, becoming the first team to win back-to-back world titles.

Fnatic, the top seed of Group A, took on DRX, the bottom seed of Group B, in the quarter-finals. They triumphed 2-0, prevailing 13-8 on Lotus and 13-9 on Ascent. In the semis, they took on Paper Rex, the top seed from Group B, who caused an upset by defeating Team Liquid in the quarters. Fnatic triumphed 2-1, securing victories of 13-11 on Lotus, 10-13 on Bind, and 13-7 on Fracture. 

In the upper bracket final, they faced Evil Geniuses, the top seed of Group A, who had previously defeated NRG and EDG. Fnatic triumphs 2-1, securing victories of 10-13 on Haven, 13-9 on Icebox, and 13-11 on Bind. This win guarantees them a spot in the grand final and a two-map ban advantage.

Fnatic met Evil Geniuses in the grand final, following Evil Geniuses’ elimination of Paper Rex in the lower bracket final. Fnatic dominates Evil Geniuses, securing a clean 3-0 victory with scores of 13-8 (Lotus), 13-11 (Split), and 15-13 (Bind). They achieved a historic feat by securing consecutive international titles in Valorant, following their triumph at VCT LOCK//IN earlier the same year.
