Warzone 2 Player Count: How to Check

Now that it’s been about a month since the initial release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, it’s perhaps as good of a time as any to go over how the game has performed so far with its player count.

For fans of the free-to-play, first-person shooter battle royale, here’s a breakdown of how to check the Warzone 2 player count.

For those simply looking to check the player count of the current match you’re in while playing Warzone 2, that is located at the top-right corner of the HUD. It’s the second from the left icon and automatically updates with how many players in your game are left standing in Al Mazrah.

For those wondering about the lifetime and concurrent player counts for Warzone 2, it’s typically tough to get a clear, exact official number of the player counts of games as developers and publishers often don’t share their player data outside of when they hit new milestones.

On Nov. 21, Activision reveal that Warzone 2 garner over 25 million players in five days since its initial launch. This followed up Modern Warfare 2’s Oct. 28 launch, which reportedly generated over $1 billion in 10 days.

Aside from this, PlayStation, Xbox and Battle.net do not disclose player data.

Thanks to Warzone 2 being on Steam as well, however, its API’s tracking of accurate player numbers is publicly available.

According to SteamCharts, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II | Warzone 2.0 app peaked at 488,897 concurrent players on Nov. 19, which is the 12th-highest mark on the platform of all-time. Keep in mind, of course, that this data tracks Steam players who logged into the app that is used for both MW2 and Warzone 2, and does not take into account those playing through Battle.net or on console.
