What Remains of Edith Finch PS5 Version Supposedly in the Works

New age ratings from the Taiwan Game Ratings board suggest a native PS5 version of What Remains of Edith Finch is in development. Spotted by Twisted Voxel, the recent listings haven’t been mentioned publicly by studio Giant Sparrow, but as is the case with today’s other age rating tied to Inscryption, these ratings are very rarely ever wrong. An official reveal could be just around the corner.

You’d like to think a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade would be on offer for current owners, but since the new version is unconfirmed at the time of writing, we can only speculate. As Twisted Voxel points out, What Remains of Edith Finch on PS4 ran at 30 frames-per-second and wasn’t native to a 4K resolution. As such a PS5 version could provide the indie darling with a huge graphical and performance boost.

In our What Remains of Edith Finch PS4 review, we awarded the title a very rare 10/10 rating, we concluded: “Between the most realised home we’ve ever seen in a game, the incredible voice work, and the moving, intriguing story, this is the genre’s new golden standard.”
