The first and only mission in Act IV leads you into the Dark Aether. After defeating the final boss in this mission you obtain a Locked Diary. The new mission, introduced to Act IV, is called Bad Signal. It challenges you to locate an anomaly and “leave the dark aether”. This is a simple mission, you just need to head to the exfiltration location and complete the mission. The zombies inside are all Tier 2 zombies, so make sure you go in prepared.

If you were paying close attention during the Bad Signal mission, when you break each of the seals, they reveal a small 3D image of a special item. These represent the items you need in order to open the 4 new sigils on the main map. The Locked Diary is one of those items.

When you are on the main map, you can bring The Locked Diary to the location shown above, this is the location of the Dark Aether Portal. You need to approach the pedestal with the ice icon and then use the The Locked Diary from your inventory. This will activate that sigil.

Unfortunately, this appears to be only part of the puzzle as we need to track down the other items. Save your Locked Diary as if you use it on the pedestal, you will lose it. Only use it once you have found the other items. We are trying to locate them now.
