xQc Blasts Twitch for Allowing Nudity but Banning Gambling

Kick streamers are still taking aim at their former platform over its ban on gambling, implemented in October 2022. Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, a Canadian streamer with more than 600,000 followers on Kick, is the latest to blast the platform for its policies.

Speaking on a recent stream, xQc slammed Twitch for permitting nudity while maintaining its ban on gambling. On Wednesday, the platform revealed a string of changes to its community guidelines regarding sexual content. It will now permit streams containing certain levels of nudity as long as they are under the proper label.

streamers are bypassing rules against nudity by broadcasting while topless

It comes in response to the new “topless” meta, in which streamers are bypassing rules against nudity by broadcasting while topless but cropping videos to just show their face. Twitch initially banned these creators before recently changing tack and permitting the streams in certain cases.

Commenting on the situation, xQc said he doesn’t understand how the platform can ban gambling but permit sexual content. “You’re not going to gaslight everybody with ‘protect the children’ when you ban gambling on Twitch,” the 28-year-old said.

He continued: “The whole world rallied together, made a big picket fence line and was like ‘protect the children, please!’ And then their platform enables pole dancing, twerking, d*cks out, and drawings of actual [sexual content]. What about the children now? Where they at now?”

Many streamers, including xQc, made the shift to Kick after Twitch implemented its ban on unregulated casino content. Crypto casino Stake created Kick as a place where its streaming partners could continue to create gambling content.
