The difference-makers: The best junglers at Worlds 2021

Over the last few years, the jungle position in professional League of Legends has become one of the most important roles on a team. Whether you’re playing at the highest level or playing a solo queue game, a good jungler can mean the difference between an easy win and a grueling loss due to their control over the pace of the game. Junglers are the catalysts for their team’s early game, help activate some star players through ganks, and serve as the overall engine for a competitive squad. But at

The top 10 players at Worlds 2021

Each year, hundreds of professional League of Legends players compete in a dozen leagues across the world. And since the game’s professional scene is splintered into these regional leagues, it makes it difficult for the best players from their respective regions to compete with each other on a consistent basis.  At the World Championship, though, the strongest players from each corner of the globe congregate, treating fans to memorable moments and “instant classic” games. Perhaps it’s the rarity of matches played between some of League’s biggest stars that makes Worlds

Riot apologizes for calling Worlds 2021 play-in stage a ‘fiesta,’ says it was meant as an ‘ironic joke’

Riot Games issued an apology after inadvertently referring to the 2021 League of Legends World Championship play-in stage as a “fiesta.” The developers described the unfortunate wording as “placeholder copy” that was meant as an “ironic joke” due to their “frustration in not being able to support play-ins” with Worlds 2021 Pick’ems. In a post on Sept. 26, Riot had written: “Play-ins are happening and we don’t support that fiesta. Sit back, relax, and gather up your posse in preparation for the show.” It was later deleted.  Several notable figures

The two squads met in last year’s Mid-Season Cup, an exhibition tournament between LCK and LPL

The four LPL representatives at Worlds 2020 failed to requalify for this year’s Worlds

The four LPL representatives at the 2020 League of Legends world championship had two rough splits, failing to requalify for the most prestigious tournament of the year. Top Esports, the last candidates on the list, fell to LNG Esports earlier today. Top Esports, Suning, JD Gaming, and LGD Gaming had mixed results throughout the Summer Split, with two teams failing to even make playoffs to have a chance to qualify for this year’s worlds. LGD Gaming and JD Gaming finished 11th and 12th during the regular season, while Top Esports
