2022 NFL Top 100: 30-41

Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is over, the TGH staff have ranked their top 100 players ahead of the 2022 NFL season. 

Multiple TGH staff members voted on their top 100 players, who were given scores based on their ranks, then sorted by their final score. The players were ranked regardless of position, and the editors broke any ties at their discretion.

Each article in this series will list 10 players at a time, with brief comments on their 2021 performances and what is expected of them in 2022. Make sure to check back every Friday for the next 10 players in our list!

Today, we list and evaluate players 30-41 in our list of the 2022 NFL Top 100.

40. Chandler Jones

Jordan has played 10 years in the NFL and is a seven-time Pro-Bowler. Recently in 2021, Jordan had 59 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, and 13 tackles for a loss. He has been a sack machine throughout most of his NFL career, racking up 107 career sacks. Jordan will look to have another good season with the Saints in 2022. -Matthew Brown

39. Trey Hendrickson

The first few years of Hendrickson’s career started off slowly with the Saints. He then had 13 sacks in 2020 and then signed with the Bengals for the 2021 season. Hendrickson totaled 14 sacks for the Bengals and was one of the huge reasons the Bengals were able to go on a run to the Super Bowl. The Bengals will be counting on Hendrickson again in 2022 and he should be able to deliver, as he is in his prime years. -Joe DiTullio

38. Rashawn Slater

There were doubts about Slater’s ability to be a good tackle in the league, as some thought he fit more as a guard at the NFL level. He proved the doubters wrong, as he protected Justin Herbert’s blindside well. Slater allowed just four sacks as a rookie and has shown he has the tools to improve heading into the next few years of his career. -Joe DiTullio

37. Denzel Ward

In 2021, Ward played 15 games, grabbed three interceptions and had a league-best 99-yard pick six off of defending AFC Champion quarterback Joe Burrow. This play alone may have gotten him selected to his second Pro Bowl. In short, he is turning into a ball hawk corner that can change the tenor of a game with a single play in 2022. -Ben Hendricks

36. Jaire Alexander

Alexander has made his case as one of the very best, if not the best cornerback in the league when healthy. He was one of the Packers’ many first round picks spent on defense during the Rodgers era, but has been one of the very best of those defensive players. He may only one have Pro Bowl selection and five interceptions to his name since 2018, but the lack of interceptions comes from opposing quarterbacks’ fear of throwing to his side. Alexander locks down the opponents’ best receiver and negates his production. That’s all a fanbase could ask for, maybe even more than flashy stats. -Ben Hendricks

35. Ronnie Stanley

Stanley was one of the many injured Ravens in 2021. His impact as the left tackle was sorely missed. He has developed into one of the best left tackles in the game and will have a great opportunity to prove that again in 2022. If he can stay healthy, the Ravens have a shot at making a playoff run. -Joe DiTullio

34. Mark Andrews

Mark Andrews earned a “fantasy hero” distinction last year, but his game is much more than that. The Ravens’ leading receiver, Andrews racked up 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns on 107 receptions last year. He has also proven he can get downfield quickly and break free from defenders for chunk plays. Watch out Kittle and Kelce; if Andrews puts up another season like this in 2022, there is someone officially coming for the title of best tight end in the league. -Ben Hendricks

33. Darius Leonard

Leonard was a second-round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He started his NFL career racking up 163 total tackles during his rookie season, which was good for most in the league. Furthermore, he was named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018.

He followed 2018 up with three more Pro Bowl seasons through 2019 to 2021. Leonard’s 2021 season was great all around. He had 122 total tackles, eight forced fumbles and four interceptions. Leonard should have many more great years as he does not show any signs of slowing down. -Matthew Brown

32. David Bakhtiari

Bakhtiari has missed 20 games since the 12th week of the 2020 season, yet he still ranks in the top 40 of the 2022 NFL Top 100. That’s because all of his play leading up to his unfortunate injury has solidified him as the best left tackle in the league when he is healthy. He keeps Rodgers upright and has adjusted his game a bit as the Packers lean a little more into the running game. If he plays, he’s the best, plain and simple. -Ben Hendricks
