Apeks sign jL

Justinas “jL” Lekavicius has inked a yearlong deal with Apeks, becoming the first addition to be announced by the Norwegian organization after the changes in the squad from last June which resulted in Hugo “chawzyyy” Günther and Asger “AcilioN” Larsen being benched.

The player previously worked with Apeks‘ newly appointed coach Jakub “kuben” Gurczynski during his time in MAD Lions before the organization’s decision to shut down their CS:GO branch in April.

jL is now a part of Apeks

jL accumulated a 1.10 rating during his time playing under the Spanish organization, utilizing the rifle as well as the Big Green and registering 18.3% of his frags with the AWP. The Lithuanian was part of a few victories at online events with MAD Lions, namely GameGune 23 and Esport Tour Pro Summer 2021. He also helped the squad reach IEM Fall 2021 before finishing DreamHack Open November in third place.

Following his departure from MAD Lions, he competed alongside Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk and Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk as ex-MAD Lions until last July.

Apeks add kuben as head coach

“I chose to sign with Apeks because I really like the lineup and I see a lot of potential in us. This is by far the best-looking team I’ve had the chance to play with,” read jL‘s words on Apeksannouncement. “I will bring a fully dedicated mindset to achieve whatever we put our minds to,” it continued.

“He is young and hungry, and that’s always good in a team with high ambitions. It’s also a safe player for us to sign since our head coach knew him well from before, so he knows how he can deliver and bring us to new heights,” added Anders Kjær, Apeks‘ Head of Esports.

The Norwegian organization stated in jL‘s announcement that the final player for their roster will be announced soon.
