ARK Fjordur: Where To Find Element Shards

Element Shards in ARK Fjordur are used to craft one of the most important materials in the game, Element. However, with a world map as large as Fjordur, it can be fairly overwhelming for players to head out in search of these
Element Shards themselves. Players looking to tackle the endgame bosses will definitely need some Element, so it’s a good idea for players to begin farming Element Shards as early as possible.

Element Shards can be used to craft various Tek structures, such as Tek Walls, Tek Roofs, or Tek Staircases, and can additionally be used as fuel for Tek Bows and Turrets. They are used to power Tek structures, and to craft Element, which is an ingredient for crafting powerful Tek armor and weapons.

Where To Find Element Shards In ARK Fjordur

There are a few different locations around the world where Element Shards can be found, but there is one clear hotspot that players should use to farm primarily. This location is inside a cave in the Fire Wyvern’s ravine, which can found at latitude 89.4, longitude 71.2, totally exposed at the surface. It is a massive ravine that travels from northwest to southeast, and is home to many Fire Wyverns and Magmasaurs, but also countless Element Shards. Players should be well-equipped to put up a good fight before venturing in, and should have a powerful creature by their side.

Descend into this ravine and head in the southeast direction, using your GPS to guide you. At the far end of the ravine, you will find a small cave opening, with some purple crystals above and around the opening.

Inside this cave, there is a very clear path that players can follow. Follow this path until latitude 93.2, longitude 91.1 is reached. Here, the path forks into two directions, and players will want to head right, following the purple crystals.

Players should continue to hug the right wall as they follow the path, and at the far end of the room, they will enter a downwards cave opening into yet another room. The coordinates for this room are latitude 88.1, longitude 92.6–so players may verify that they are in the right spot. Here, there is a drop-off into a lava pool to the immediate left, and it is down here where element shards can be found.

Carefully drop down to this lava area, and on the rock to the immediate left, players can find a cluster of red crystals. These red crystals are where Element Shards are obtained, so simply mine them to collect loads of Element Shards. Red crystals like these ones can be located all around this area, and if players follow the lava, it will open into a much larger area with even more to find. Additionally, loads of Black Pearls an be found scattered throughout the red crystal clusters, though players may want to clear the room of Magamasaurs first.
