PC

The most obvious benefit to owning Armored Core 6 on a PC is the ability to both mod the game and run it at higher resolutions and FPS. Depending on your war rig, you could max out the graphics and get buttery smooth performance in a way that a simple console never will. However, if you are lacking a little in the processor or GPU department, you may find yourself getting pretty low FPS in this intensive game.

The ability to mod Armored Core 6 on a PC will also bring about the joy and inventiveness that come along with it. Mods are often designed not only to improve the quality of life in a game but also to tweak graphics and models. A game like Armored Core 6 will undoubtedly have a million mods rolled out. These just aim to make the game all that much better and more fun. This is something that console players will absolutely not be able to get their hands on.

However, PC players are often subject to hackers when it comes to online play. This is really a minor issue and is never really enough to sway players.

Xbox

For Xbox players, the obvious draw comes from being able to play with the well-known Xbox controller. However, unless you’re running with an Xbox Series X, you’re going to be looking at only 40FPS 1440p. This is not great for a game like Armored Core 6, in which every frame makes a difference. However, if you have an Xbox Series X, you will still be able to see 60fps at 2k resolution,  which is passable.

The Xbox struggles a little more than the PS5, which the game was built for, but the difference is minimal.

PS5

This is the console the game was originally made for, like most FromSoft games. Armored Core 6 is one of the first games to be ported to all platforms immediately. The PS5 runs the game at the best FPS and quality out of the box. Unless you have a PC that can outstrip a PS5, this is your best bet for Armored Core 6.

The benefits of using a controller for any console are negated by the fact that Steam now offers support for both the PS5 controller and the Xbox controller for Armored Core 6 on PC. If the mouse and keyboard aren’t your thing, that is no problem.
