Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC is in Development?

In recent years, Ubisoft has accustomed us to long post-launch support for its titles related to the Assassin’s Creed saga (and not only), with the release of several DLCs over time. For this reason, many users have begun to wonder if this will also be the case for the new chapter and therefore if an Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC is in development or not.

Will Assassin’s Creed Mirage have a DLC?

According to what has been said in the past few hours, it seems that Ubisoft has different ideas for the new adventure starring the character Basim, as there are currently no plans for an Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC. In fact, the creative director Stephane Boudon has stated that “for now there are no plans for DLC or for a long post-launch for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”

Obviously, these are only the first ideas that the development team has that is still struggling with the development of the game since it hasn’t debuted on the market yet. At the moment, however, it seems that Mirage will be a self-contained experience and that it will not need any post-launch support to tell its story in its entirety. The fact remains, therefore, that it is likely that Ubisoft will rethink it over time and decide to continue with the same path used for Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

Although the game will be released in several versions, none of them will give access to more missions or story pieces than the basic version. They include some extras, but they are all related to alternative costumes, cosmetics, artbooks, and digital soundtracks. Sure these things will make players and longtime fans of the series happy, but it’s definitely not a story addition.

The decision not to focus on post-launch material, at least at the moment, can also be identified in the fact that this new chapter of the famous Assassin’s Creed franchise represents a real return to origins. It will therefore be a more story-driven game that will not have a level-based progression, thus returning to the setting of the old games in the series.
