Atletico Madrid vs Celta Vigo Match Analysis and Prediction

Atletico Madrid are set to host Celta Vigo at the Civitas Metropolitano in their La Liga Matchday Five tie on Saturday night.

Atletico Madrid have not hit they stride yet this season, but they have managed to pick up seven points from their four matches, having won three, drawn one and lost one in the process. They currently sit seventh in the league standings, level on points with sixth placed Athletic Club and two outside the top four places.

Atleti were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Sociedad in their previous league encounter, but they managed to bounce back in Europe as they claimed a dramatic 2-1 win over Porto in their Champions League opener last Wednesday.

They will therefore look to draw confidence from the midweek victory as they seek to bounce back in La Liga.  They have not lost to Celta Vigo in their last seven league matches, claiming four victories on the run, and thus they should fancy their chances on Saturday.

To Celta Vigo standards they have made an impressive  start to the campaign, although they have also claimed seven points from their four matches as they hosts, Atletico Madrid.

They started out lowly drawing and losing their opening two matches respectively, but have managed to bounce back since and have won their last two matches, beating Girona 1-0 on the road and Cadiz 3-0 at home.

Eduardo Coudet’s side will now be keen to build on the victories and they look to maintain their upturn in the results. However, they have not won at Civitas Metropolitano in their last seven visits and we believe they will have a tough time there on Saturday.
