Bloober Team and Rogue Games enter partnership for “badass” project

Bloober Team has built up substantial credibility over the years as a video game developer — based in Krakow, Poland. The company has found success developing and self-publishing its titles in the past with games like Blair Witch and The Medium. However, the latest partnership between Bloober Team and Rogue Games looks to elevate both teams’ capabilities with a new “badass” and “ambitious” project.

The news of the partnership came in a release published by Rogue Games and Bloober Team. Details of the new project are sparse at this point, but the newly formed duo has confirmed that the game will release on PC. At face value, this might not seem like a big deal. However, when it comes to focusing on the project, if it’s anything like The Medium, the studio will likely lean into its ability to create elaborate set pieces and environments to help emphasize the game’s story. That might also mean a focus on ray tracing and higher resolutions as a baseline.

There seems to be a lot of hype about the new project (whatever it is) coming from both Rogue Games and Bloober Team. In the release, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober, said the team “couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Rogue on this incredible project.” Babieno goes on to express how much that Rogue Games shares in the vision of immersion and originality when it comes to development. To further emphasize that Rogue Games is no slouch, either. The press release notes that its team is made up of veterans of the gaming industry. Resumes include having worked at Activision, Electronic Arts, and Sony.

Something this way comes

There isn’t much information regarding this upcoming project between the development duo. However, CEO of Rogue, Matt Casamassina, said the team has “admired Bloober’s dark and gorgeous games for years, so we knew right away they were the only team to do this crazy cool concept justice.”

One could guess that this unknown project will likely prey on your psychological fears. Signs point to something new, but a Blair Witch sequel from the developer wouldn’t be the worst decision.
