Call of Duty (COD): Vanguard is set to go live later this week and players are already looking into how they can preload it.

Preloading is the act of downloading and installing a game onto a certain system before its launch date in order to jump in directly and play. It can be done on both PCs and consoles through specific channels. It has quite a few benefits for eager players—essentially offering the same experience as simply picking up a CD-ROM from the store.

Once complete, players will be able to boot up the program the moment it goes live.

According to post on the official Call of Duty blog, “All players who pre-purchased the game digitally on Battle.net can preload the title so they’re ready to play the moment the game goes live.”

PC players can begin preloading Vanguard on Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). Those who purchased the digital download of the game, but do not see it downloaded at the time, can find it under the “Partner Games” heading on the Battle.net launcher. From there, the launcher will guide the player through the preload steps.

More information about Vanguard on PC can be found on Activision’s corresponding webpage.

All players who purchased the digital version of the game can begin preloading it at specific times according to their platform.

Xbox players can begin their download at 9 p.m. PT (12 a.m. ET) on Oct. 28.

North and South American PlayStation players can begin their download at 9 p.m. PT (12 a.m. ET) on Oct. 28. Other regions can start their download at midnight on Oct. 29 according to their local time zone.

“If you purchased a digital version of the game but it does not download during the preload period, visit your platform’s first-party store and follow the prompts to begin the download,” a companion blog post states, “Ensure your console is updated to the latest firmware before attempting to preload the game.”

Call of Duty: Vanguard will go live on Nov. 5.
