Cliff Bleszinski’s Comic Book Launches at San Diego Comic-Con

Gaming icon Cliff Bleszinski (of Epic Games and Gears of War fame) has teamed up with comic book scribe Alex de Campi (Dracula, Motherf**ker!, Madi) to create and launch the first issue of their dog-centric comic series Scrapper during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this week.

Scrapper officially releases July 19, and tells a personal story of love and loss mixed with Blade Runner-style action and mystery, with touches of friendship, thrills, and, most importantly, man’s best friend! But the comic’s release won’t be the only big thing from Cliffy B and company during SDCC, as Cliff will also have two panels:

Cliff Bleszinski: Games to Comics

• When: July 21st, from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm PST
• Where: Room 23ABC Friday
• Signing: Post-panel signing in Autograph Area from 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm PST

Writing across Film/TV, Games, and Comics panel

• When: Saturday, July 22 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm PST
• Where: Room 25ABC.

The comic is being published by Image Comics and will be a six-issue miniseries that stars a good dog named Scrapper and his buddy tank, as they face off against the totalitarian forces of a post-apocalyptic future. But when the fight comes to his home, Scrapper will lose what’s most important to him and gain a terrifying truth in the process.

Scrapper #1 releases in comic book stores on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, with the remaining issues launching monthly until December 2023.
