Fans of detective puzzle games should pay attention to this one. The Rise of the Golden Idol was announced at The Game Awards 2023, and it’s coming to PS5 and PS4 sometime next year.

The Rise of the Golden Idol is actually the sequel to a PC/Switch title named The Case of the Golden Idol. While the first game skipped PlayStation, it seems the follow-up will be broadening its horizons, as evidenced in the above trailer.

Like its predecessor, this game is a detective mystery puzzler in which you must reach your own conclusions about various crimes by observing characters and the environments they’re in. Set against a 1970s backdrop, you’ll follow a relic hunter who’s on a quest to find the titular artefact, and it’s your job to make sense of numerous mysteries along the way.
