Dignitas 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview

Dignitas 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview

The LCS 2024 season is about to begin. This offseason was a doozy for the league as three teams left in TSM, Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians. Only one of those spots were filled with Shopify Rebellion taking over TSM’s slot and the LCS was cut down to eight teams. But now fans are wanting to know more about their team as we head toward the start of the season. Here is The Game Haus’ Dignitas 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview.

2023 Summer Review

For Dignitas fans, Summer 2023 was possibly the best Split since their return. Not only did they go 7-11 after a horrible Spring that saw them finish 3-15 but they also ousted TSM from their last-ever playoffs 3-2. It was a bit surprising as Dignitas really seemed to invest more money in the team than ever.

The additions of Armut, Sanorin, Jensen and later Rich showed that Dignitas were serious about competing. While it was still a below .500 season, it was a step up for the org as a whole. There was some turnover for Dignitas this split but moves that could pay dividends by the end of the Split.

2024 Spring Split Roster

Top- Rich

Jng- eXyu

Mid- Dove

Bot- Tomo

Sup- Isles

There are a lot of questions surrounding this roster. Dove and eXyu will be one of the more inexperienced duos in the LCS as not only have they never played together before but there is likely going to be a language barrier. There will be a learning curve and we will have to see how long it takes for them to learn how to work in tandem.

Then there are Tomo and Isles. While both have some experience, it is not much. Tomo proved that he deserved another chance after stepping in for Spawn and hopefully Isles will be able to accentuate his playstyle for the bot lane to find success. Lastly, there is Rich who it seems Dignitas are really building around.

2024 Spring Split Player to Watch: Rich

Last season, the “Faker of Heroes of the Storm” was able to surprise in many of his games. His laning was stronger than anticipated and he played without fear. This was clearly enough for Dignitas to decide to make this roster fit around him.

Due to this, Rich has to be the Player to Watch. If they can play through him and make sure that he doesn’t receive all the attention from the enemy team, Dignitas may surprise some people this year. But, if Rich takes all of those resources and does not use them, Dignitas could be in for a world of hurt. There may not be a more important player to any team’s success this Split than Rich.

Predicted Spring Placement: 8th

Look, it is not like Rich cannot be trusted or that he isn’t a solid player. He showed that he can be. But can he really lead this team to victory consistently enough for them to win more than a handful of games? That is the major question and one frankly feels like it does not go in favor of Rich and Dignitas.

This is because it is a lot to ask one player to carry a team, let alone one with such little experience at the highest levels of the game. Sure, he was a GOAT in HotS but League of Legends is a bit of a different beast. Dignitas will have to hope that Dove or Tomo can really emerge if they want to reach themselves into a different tier of teams. For now, they are sadly staring up at the rest of the LCS.
