Envy Gaming Rebrands as OpTic Gaming

Envy Gaming has officially taken on the OpTic Gaming name after the brands merged back in November 2021.

Speaking on a podcast, OpTic Gaming President Hector “Hecz” Rodrigues revealed that the Envy Gaming name is being absorbed into OpTic. All of Envy’s teams, aside from Overwatch team Dallas Fuel, will be rebranding both name and logo to OpTic Gaming.

OpTic put out a Twitter post welcoming over the new OpTic Rocket League team, consisting of Nick “mist” Costello, Andres “dreaz” Jordan, Braxton “Allushin” Lagarec, and Pierre “Turbopolsa” Silfver, all of whom were previously playing under the banner of Team Envy.

Chief Gaming Officer Mike “Hastro” Rufail said that the decision to keep the Dallas Fuel name was down to it being “engrained in the Overwatch community.”

As for the Envy brand, Rufail said that the decision to merge was better for the organization to survive, suggesting that bringing everything under one banner would help mitigate any confusion for potential sponsors or investors.

Rufail assured listeners that they “still own the brand and could still potentially do something in the future if we want to but it just made so much more sense to me to put all of our resources into OpTic because that’s where we are really going to grow our business.”
