ESL One Birmingham 2024 – All Teams That Will Attend The Event (Qualifiers Recap)

Here is a list of all teams that will attend ESL One Birmingham 2024. The qualifiers are finally over, so let’s see what happened.

ARTICLE IS UPDATED LIVE:

ESL One Birmingham 2024 will be one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of 2024. Taking palace in April, it will have 12 teams that will fight for a $1M prize pool. Even though there is still a lot of time until the tournament begins, we already know the teams that will take part in it.

The ESL One Birmingham 2024 qualifiers are finally over, and each region has “chosen” its contenders. We also know the names of the 4 squids that received a direct invitation, so let’s see the names of all ESL One Birmingham 2024 Teams

Direct Invites

Technically, ESL One Birmingham 2024 does not have direct invites. However, 4 teams received a slot because they were placed high on the EPT Leaderboard. These include:

  • Team Liquid
  • Xtreme Gaming
  • Gaming Gladiators
  • BetBoom Team

We won’t go into detail about who’s the favorite and what to expect because there is still a lot of time until the tournament begins. Instead, let’s go over the qualifiers in each region.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers – North America

The qualifiers in North America for ESL One Birmingham 2024 included 8 teams. Even though there were a few intriguing names, it became clear that we will see yet another deadly battle between nouns and Shopify Rebellion.

The two had no issues in the first two rounds, and then they met in the Upper Bracket final. The series wasn’t easy for either squad, but in the end, SR defeated their opponents and secured a slot for the Grand Final. There, SR had to play against nouns again because the latter defeated BammySoy.

The last match was really epic because we saw 5 full games. Each one offered us non-stop action and tons of clutch moments. In the end, though, Shopify Rebellion was above the rest, and the team won the clash. This means we will see Arteezy, one of the top-tier carries, in the UK.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers – Eastern Europe

The qualifications in Eastern Europe were more interesting than those in North America for many years. Unlike NA, the teams from EEU got 2 slots for ESL One Birmingham 2024, meaning once Virtus.Pro had a real chance of succeeding. Sadly, this did not happen.

As expected, Team Spirit was in a league of its own once again and ripped through its opponents. The team did not lose a single series and defeated VP in the final to get one of the slots.

Many people expected Virtus.Pro to take the second ESL One Birmingham 2024 slot, but the team was unable to overcome Klim Sani4. The latter surprised everyone by defeating VP, as well as 3 enemies before that, including Na’Vi and the other big name in EEU – Yellow Submarine.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers – China

If there is one region we are impressed with, it has to be China. Besides the fact that we saw tons of world-class names here, the ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers were just on another level, especially the Grand Final. Speaking of the devil, China had only 1 slot, so teams did everything they could to win it.

LGD Gaming, G2.IG, Team Aster, and Azure Ray were the 4 big names that everyone was looking forward to seeing in action. LGD finished 3rd after losing the LB Final, whereas Team Aster was eliminated early on from Azure Ray. Speaking of the latter, AR and G2.iG were the two names that played in the final match.

What made the final series so insane was the length of the games. We had the chance to see two ESL One Birmingham 2024 Dota 2 matches that were more than 83 minutes long. In fact. The 4th game was more than 103 minutes long, and it was insane, but in the end, Azure Ray Won it.

Just when we expected to see another 100+min deathmatch, G2.iG stepped up their game in the 5th and final map and won in 44 minutes. The team had a better draft and relied on its Magnus and Slark combo, which was enough to win the game.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers – Southeast  Asia

Similar to China, NA, and SA, the SEA ESL One Birmingham 2024 qualifiers only gave this region 1 slot. The battle was intense because there were a few big names that were hoping to get the slots for the event. In the end, the honor went to Talon Esports.

Blacklist International, Geek Fam, Execration, and Talon Esports went into an epic battle for the single SEA slot, but in the end, Talon was above the rest. Even though the team lost the first round to Geek Fam, Talon rose from the ashes and defeated Bleed Esports, Execration, and Neon Esports, allowing them to reach the final. Even though it was against Geek Fam again, this time Talon ripped through their opponents and got a quick 0:3 victory.

Following the event, we will see ChYuaN, Aakashi, Ws, Jhocam and ponyo in action in the UK. This will be the very first big tournament for many of those players because Talon changed the majority of its roster for the new season.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers – MENA

The newest Dota 2 region is nothing short but impressive and the the ESL One Birmingham 2024 Qualifiers proved it yet again. All of the big names here lived up to our expectations, but in the end, Team Falcons stole the victory and will be going to the UK.

Team Falcons, PSG Quest and Nigma Galaxy took part in an epic battle for the single slot for the  ESL One Birmingham 2024. As expected, the three dominated and reached the Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket Final. To be honest, most people expected Nigma to reach the Grand Final, but the squad was unable to defeat PSG Quest after losing to it for the second time in the LB. This paved the way for the Team Falcons vs PSG Quest final, which ended in favor of Team Falcons.
