ESL Pro Tour and ESL Impact are swiftly adapting their ongoing and upcoming competitions to incorporate Counter Strike 2, allowing players to immerse themselves fully in the enhanced gaming experience that CS2 offers.

Several competitions, including the ESL Challenger Jönköping Qualifiers and the ESL Impact League Season 4, have transitioned to CS2 with immediate effect. This transition is crucial as practice opportunities for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) become limited, necessitating teams and players to focus on developing their skills in CS2.

Upcoming competitions like the Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 and all ESL Counter-Strike competitions scheduled after it will also be played on CS2. This includes various national championships and the recently announced ESL Pro Tour competitions in 2024, marking a significant shift in the competitive gaming landscape.

With the transition to CS2, affected tournaments are adapting to an MR12 format, meaning ongoing competitions will see a mix of MR15 and MR12 matches. In instances where tiebreakers go to round difference, a decider match will be organized to settle the tie, ensuring fair play and competition integrity.

CS2 is currently available on FACEIT, and competitions like the ESL Pro League Season 18 and ESEA League Season 46 will continue to be played on CS:GO, concluding in October.
